Into Darkness
A downloadable game for Windows
'Into Darkness' is a top down 3D survival-horror game, created as a University Project by Robert Henery and Joshua Tyler-Jones (https://github.com/J15t98J).
The aim of the project was to create a short game prototype, to demonstrate a core dynamic through a set of tutorial levels.
Into darkness is a chase and evade game, set in a science lab with the power failing. The aim is to navigate through the labs, avoiding the escaped test subjects, and escape. The game revolves around two main mechanics; lighting flares to illuminate your route through the darkness, and throwing flares which monsters will chase, to lure monsters away from your character and desired route. This creates a dynamic of managing the number of flares you have in your inventory, balancing using up flares to explore your surroundings, with saving flares which are required to move the monsters to progress through the room.
The project currently is a prototype, consisting of 6 tutorial levels.
